Today, some new music from Bury St. Edmunds trio Horse Party with their new track 'Paydirt' which features on the new album from R*E*P*E*A*T Records and Pure Deadly entitled 'This Is The Sound of Sugar Town'. You can check out the band's new track below:
The track is a dirty, grunge laden indie rock track with those sludgy riffs, dank bass lines and nonchalent vocals that are synonymous with the grunge genre. Choruses are catchy with their little melodies that play around the edges not drawing too much attention to themselves and the drums which pound along with crashing cymbals to create a stomping rhythm commanding your attention completely. Vocally, the spoken delivery with a rock edge to them works so well with everything else here though their lack of harmony makes them no less enjoyable to listen to as they deliver the lyrics in a very matter of fact way.
The album this track features on was released on 12" vinyl and download on Friday 13th November and it features 12 great acts from the UK's unsung DIY rock capital Bury St. Edmunds.
The three piece who mix rock with punk and indie have spent their time creating music they love and would listen to themselves and that has really paid off by earning them a legion of fans and gaining critical acclaim for their debut LP 'Cover Your Eyes' which has been picked up by the likes of Lauren Laverne at 6Music and XFM's John Kennedy.
It has been a busy 2015 for the band, that has culminated in the inclusion of one of their tracks on this new compilation album. All in all, 2015 has been a success for Horse Party, hopefully there will be more of the same in 2016.
